Our monthly Tuesday gathherings are for you to make serendipitous connections and make things happen!
There will be meaningful networking opportunities throughout the night, accompanied by a selection of refreshments and activities such as Pitch Please! and a 'Paint your Personality' workshop.
Our Confession Booth offers an opportunity for participants to step in front of the camera and share their thoughts with guided prompts centred on innovation, serendipity, and human connection. We invite your honest, unscripted responses, capturing personal insights, unexpected ideas, and meaningful reflections.
Whether sharing a moment of inspiration, a surprising connection, or a question that’s been lingering, participants are encouraged to speak freely in a low-pressure setting. The result is a collection of authentic perspectives that reveal how innovation often emerges from chance encounters, curiosity, and shared human experience.
Join a lively, drop-in creative experience led by current Artist in Residence and founder Dr. Dilek Ozgit. This collaborative session invites guests to explore self-expression through art, highlighting the connection between creative and scientific ways of thinking. Integrated into the networking flow of the evening, attendees can join at their own pace to paint mini canvases using accessible, expressive materials such as acrylics, watercolours or paint pens. A relaxed, hands-on moment to connect, reflect, and create. 🎨
Pitch Please! is a fast-paced, interactive group exercise where teams of 2–3 people tackle real societal challenges and pitch imaginative solutions to a mock investor. Designed to be fun, low-pressure, and inclusive, the session encourages creativity, collaboration, and big thinking without needing technical expertise. With quick idea sprints and short pitches, participants explore how bold ideas can spark meaningful change, whilst keeping the energy light and engaging.
Welcome Remarks from Innovate Cambridge and Venture Café London
PRIMED, Vellos and 50Y represent a connected approach to supporting scientists and founders in translating breakthrough research into impactful deep tech companies. PRIMED, is a UK-wide initiative focused on galvanising impact-driven scientists towards venture creation, while Vellos and 50Y support founders building companies through 5050, a company creation course. Together, they illustrate how talent, capital and venture support can align to strengthen early pathways from research to real-world impact.
As the UK innovation ecosystem continues to evolve, founders and early-stage teams are navigating a funding landscape that looks very different from even a few years ago.
This session brings together distinct perspectives on capital to explore how funding for emerging sectors is evolving beyond traditional VC. From impact investment and innovation finance to alternative routes to scale, it offers a practical, forward-looking view of what founders should be thinking about as they prepare for growth in 2026.
Continue building on the connections you sparked at the start of the evening, now enriched by fresh insights from the fireside chat. As the Confession Booth reopens, the team will be ready to capture your key takeaways and reflections from the discussion.
From 8pm, join us in The Lab for an after-party, an informal space to keep conversations flowing, deepen existing connections, and make new ones. A fitting close to an exciting, dynamic, and thoughtfully curated evening.
