Climate innovation is rapidly becoming a defining opportunity - reshaping markets, investment priorities, and the way organisations and society operate.
Following London Climate Action Week, our July Venture Café will be an exciting collaboration with the Cambridge Institute for Sustainability Leadership (CISL). We'll dive into how sustainability-led innovation is crucial for both startups and established businesses to thrive in a rapidly changing world, and we will showcase examples of the emerging and scaling startups putting Cambridge on the map as a global leader in climate innovation.
Founder Kirsten Corrigan and floral fanatic Ali will be leading a 60-minute hands-on workshop where you will create an all-natural willow hoop display using dried wildflowers and embellishments to make each one your own. You will be able to take these beautiful keepsakes home to hang up somewhere and remind you that your support is helping 1 in 4 women who are affected.
There will be meaningful networking opportunities throughout the night, accompanied by a selection of refreshments and activities.
Meet the climate tech startups shaping the future of energy and sustainable fuels at booths dotted around the room throughout this month's Venture Café Cambridge Connect.
Then, hear from their representatives in a series of 2-minute lightning talks, running from 7:00pm to 7:15pm, straight after the panel.
Join us for welcome remarks from the Venture Café London, Cambridge Institue for Sustainability Leadership and Innovate Cambridge teams.
Following its launch at London Climate Action Week, this session will celebrate the Cambridge Climate Innovation Prospectus and bring the conversation back to Cambridge.
The session will highlight the why, what and action behind the prospectus: why Cambridge matters in the UK’s climate innovation landscape, what the prospectus sets out, and what action is needed next to unlock investment, accelerate commercialisation and support delivery at scale.
It will also share key learnings from London Climate Action Week and spotlight Cambridge’s strengths, opportunities and role in driving place-based climate innovation.
The panel will explore why Cambridge is uniquely positioned to become a global leader in climate innovation, and why that matters not just for sustainability, but for economic growth and future resilience.
The discussion will be exploring how climate innovation is creating significant commercial opportunities across key sectors, and how Cambridge's combination of world-leading research, entrepreneurial talent, investment networks and industry partnerships provides a powerful platform for turning breakthrough science into scalable businesses.
Panellists will share insight on the journey of emerging technologies scaling through the Cambridge ecosystem, the challenges of scaling climate ventures from laboratory to global markets, and the role investors, corporates and policymakers can play in accelerating growth.
